The Masseria

The Story

Timeless authenticity and hospitality

Masseria del Crocifisso has its origins in 1615, with its earliest structure being a typical tower-shaped dwelling and two adjoining “lamie” (stone rooms with vaulted ceilings).

Thanks to meticulous and repeated restoration, the building has become a welcoming retreat for refined Italian and international guests, who love the countryside and the elegance of interiors and furnishings.
Natural materials such as stone, fine light woods, clean white fabrics like linen, and touches of copper for the lighting design have been chosen to bring it back to life with authenticity.

The Chapel

A century after the Masseria was built, a small chapel was added. It’s a peaceful, intimate place where faith meets the beauty of nature. By the end of the 1700s, Masseria del Crocifisso became the summer residence of Bishop Andrea Venditti of Polignano a Mare. This chapter in the Masseria’s story highlights its warm and hospitable nature, handed down lovingly through the centuries.

The restaurant

At Masseria del Crocifisso, every dish reflects Puglian tradition with a creative twist. In the cozy interior spaces during winter or out on the lawn in summer, the restaurant provides the perfect setting to enjoy good food. High-quality ingredients, from the Masseria’s own farm and local producers, create an authentic culinary experience enhanced by regional wines and artisanal desserts.
